Στις 28 Ιουνίου 2024, η Pınar Selek θα δικαστεί για πέμπτη φορά από το τουρκικό κράτος.
Πριν από 26 χρόνια, στην Τουρκία, η Pınar Selek συνελήφθη για το ακαδημαϊκό της έργο σχετικά με την κουρδική αντίσταση. Σύμφωνα με την επαγγελματική ηθική της κοινωνιολογίας, αρνήθηκε να αποκαλύψει τις ταυτότητες των ανθρώπων από τους οποίους πήρε συνέντευξη: βασανίστηκε και φυλακίστηκε.. Στη φυλακή, μαθαίνει ότι κατηγορείται για μια “επίθεση” στην αγορά μπαχαρικών της Κωνσταντινούπολης – στην πραγματικότητα πρόκειται για μια τυχαία έκρηξη αερίου. Πέρασε σχεδόν δύο χρόνια στη φυλακή.
Αθωώνεται για πρώτη φορά το 2006, αλλά ο εισαγγελέας ασκεί έφεση. Άρχισε η δικαστική παρενόχληση, με μια σειρά από δίκες που κατέληγαν πάντα σε αθωωτικές αποφάσεις λόγω έλλειψης στοιχείων, οι οποίες όμως ανατρέπονταν, οδηγώντας κάθε φορά σε νέα απόφαση…
Παρ’ όλα αυτά, η Pınar Selek συνέχισε την έρευνα και το συγγραφικό της έργο, καθώς και τη συμμετοχή της στην καρδιά των κοινωνικών κινημάτων, οργανωνόμενη σε φεμινιστικές και ΛΟΑΤ+ συλλογικότητες και ηγούμενη μεγάλων αντιμιλιταριστικών δράσεων.
Το 2008, αναγκάστηκε να εξοριστεί. Σήμερα, είναι καθηγήτρια κοινωνιολογίας σε πανεπιστήμιο της Γαλλίας, και συνεχίζει να ασκεί τις επαγγελματικές της δραστηριότητες και τον ακτιβισμό της παρά τη συνεχή απειλή που δέχεται από τις τουρκικές αρχές και τους φασίστες, ακόμη και στο γαλλικό έδαφος.
Όπως και με εκατοντάδες άλλους πολιτικούς κρατούμενους, η τουρκική κυβέρνηση χρησιμοποιεί την περίπτωσή της ως παράδειγμα σε μια προσπάθεια να φιμώσει όλες τις αντιφρονούσες φωνές και τις πολιτικές εναλλακτικές λύσεις.
Στις 28 Ιουνίου, η Pınar Selek αντιμετωπίζει ακόμη μια δίκη, με κίνδυνο να της επιβληθεί ισόβια κάθειρξη.
Σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, γινόμαστε μάρτυρες της ενίσχυσης της αυταρχικής δεξιάς, των απειλών κατά της ελευθερίας του λόγου, της έρευνας και της αυξανόμενης καταστολής των κινημάτων πολιτών. Βλέπουμε πώς τα κράτη, οι πολυεθνικές και οι ελίτ είναι συνένοχοι στην υπεράσπιση των συμφερόντων τους με τίμημα τη μαζική φτώχεια, το κλιματικού χάος και τις σφαγές.
Αυτή η ζοφερή παγκόσμια κατάσταση αναδεικνύει τον καθοριστικό ρόλο των υπερασπιστών των θεμελιωδών δικαιωμάτων και της αντίστασης της κοινωνίας των πολιτών και των κοινωνικών κινημάτων. Σε αυτα το πλαισιο, περισσότερο από ποτέ, οι αναλύσεις μας και οι αγώνες μας πρέπει να έχουν τις ρίζες τους στη διεθνη αλληλεγγύη.
Η Pınar Selek χρησιμοποιεί αδιάκοπα τους αγωνες της προς όφελος της δικαιοσύνης, της ελευθερίας και της ισότητας. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο, παρά το πλήθος των διαφορετικών συνθηκών μέσα στις οποίες ζούμε και αγωνιζόμαστε, αναγνωρίζουμε ότι είμαστε μέρος του ίδιου κινήματος και ότι η έκβαση αυτής της δίκης θα διαμορφώσει το πολιτικό πλαίσιο μέσα στο οποίο θα αγωνιστούμε στο μέλλον.
Καλούμε σε αλληλεγγύη με την Pınar Selek, για να σταθούμε σταθερά στο πλευρό της στις 28 Ιουνίου στην Κωνσταντινούπολη και αλλού και να συμμετάσχουμε στη διεθνή καμπάνια για την οριστική αθώωσή της.
