Local sources said that Israeli occupation aircrafts fired rockets at a group of men before opening machinegun fire at the area.
The sources said that the name of the victim is Ismail al Areer, a 22-
year-old member of Islamic Jihad’s wing ” Al-quds Brigades”.
Medics confirmed the injured were all taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Islamic Jihad said in a statement that al-Areer was killed and five other
fighters injured in the raids, including one man who was critically wounded.
The statement confirmed that this crime will not go unpunished, and that
martyrs’ blood will not be in vein.
Mean while, sources confirmed that this act coincided with some
movements of an Israeli troops and bulldozers beside the eastern borders of
Gaza Strip.
Witnesses added they fired machinegun as they tried to cross the border.
Hamas also affirmed the news and said that small number of armored
vehicles crossed about 150 meters beyond the border, east of Gaza City.
