Unemployment is exploding and is plunging millions into job insecurity and poverty. The crisis is touching everybody.
In France the Cac 40
has doubled, youth unemployment has reached 25%. In
Spain 40% of those under 35 are without work.
Given this situation, the Spanish people are revolting.
Since May 15 tens of thousands are occupying public
places day and night. The “Real Democracy Now”
movement is becoming organized around 2 demands :
democratic restoration of the political system and
protection of social policies. This is a true mobilization
of citizens, completely independent and self-run.
Following the solidarity meetings held by Spanish
residents in France, we citizens recognize ourselves
in these aspirations of the Spanish people. We ask
everybody to be an active participant in this dynamic
change. The revolution of the Arab people has crossed
the Mediterranean. The awakening of the Spanish
people sends a clear message to all Europeans.
It’s up to us to seize this opportunity. Facing the
political oligarchy that holds all power, we demand that
a Constituent Assembly be convened to remind our
politicians that the people are the only sovereign.
Facing a handful of ultra rich who are exploiting our
society we demand a new distribution of wealth.
We ask for organized gatherings all over France and the
peaceful occupation of public places. In re-appropriating
public places we will decide together on our demands
and how to implement them (through cultural, artistic,
political and citizen actions).
The only way to curb exploitation is to resist it!
