The Water Protectors from the Sioux tribe of Standing Rock, along with around 30 activists, participated in an action of civil disobedience. They occupied the Geneva headquarters of Credit Suisse to denounce their financing of fossil energies and notably the 1.4 billion USD invested in #DAPL.
They trecked through Geneva to bring their voices and testimonies to many people, from the alternative space L’écurie to the 35th session of the UN Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations, Geneva headquarters of the UN.
From testimonies to hip-hop and a ceremony of water organized on the shore of Lake Geneva, with songs, prayers and meditations, the Water Protectors are doing whatever is necessary to denounce attacks against the rights of indigenous peoples and the climate.
