The Venezuelan Consulate organized a reception in commemoration of Hugo Chavez’s death. The main event was a projection of Oliver Stone’s documentary call “Mi Amigo Hugo” (My Friend Hugo) a gathering of testimonies of family, friends, intellectuals and politicians who honor and remember Venezuelan president. After the video, the guests were asked to write few words in remembrance on a large banner.
This is really incredible how a man who has done so much for so many would be forgotten that fast. Everything that is happening in Latin America in last few years, (Indigenous leaders jailed or killed, far-right president elected, ex-president arrested, journalists arrested and so on) has everything to do with Chavez not being here to protect South America’s poorest population.
