Rapidly, because of outsourcing, freelancing is becoming a most popular and favoured profession for the young people of Bangladesh. Especially, search engine optimization (SEO), Web design and building, also Photoshop skills exercising is also popular along with content provision and article writing.
These are all very familiar tasks and in most cases, the young ones are coming forward to receive these jobs after having taken short training courses on these subjects.
The training institutions are engaged in providing the related training to the young on every street, lane, bi-lane at all commercial points in Dhaka as a mega city and even outside of the capital.
Minister of State for Information Technology, Junaid Ahmed Palak said on Thursday in parliament that Bangladesh would establish herself as a world’s number one outsourcing country by 2021.
He informed the aisles that the country has set a one billion-dollar export target for the ICT sector by 2018. In the meantime, it was noted, Bangladesh has been able to establish herself as one of the five largest among the countries dealing in telecommunication.
While giving this address, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was presiding over the parliamentary session, and present in the audience were 2000 IT graduates, come from 118 universities and colleges.
Moreover, government was said to be provided jobs to 11,000 young people by establishing 5,275 digital centres. The number of cell phone users in Bangladesh now stands to 12 crore and 47 lakhs which is 81% of the total populace of the country. Moreover, the number of Internet users now stands to four crore and 42 lakh.
In this moment, 55,000 young learners are received training on these and other aspects of freelancing. The pace of growing demand increases every day and software experts opine that the country will have a booming IT sector very soon.
Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, an IT expert, tells it that Bangladesh could see herself as a number one in this sector in the future.
