The World March for Peace and nonviolence in Sweden called an 11am Press conference at the Culture House in Stockholm. Participants included the member organizers of World Without Wars, along with other organizations that have endorsed the march in Sweden: “Women for Peace”, “Sweden Peace Council”, “Swedish Women left association”, “Peace Quest International”.
In addition a well known endorser of the World March, Swedish singer Regina Lund attended with other well known figures, including Daniel Anderson and Andrea Csaszni, both representing the theater troupe of “High Performance”.
In the afternoon an event also took place in downtown Stockholm in Norrmalmstorg Park. Singers Regina Lund, Andrea Gerak and Pepe and Mari, performed their music along with speeches given in support of the March. The launching of the march in New Zealand was projected on a film screen and people passing by in the park were invited to see and join in.
The event culminated in participants forming a sign of nonviolence with lighted candles. The event concluded with everyone chanting the slogan together in concert with the wind: “World without War”.
