Organizations and citizens from several sectors in more than 50 countries have confirmed the weekend of activities in the global caravan against the US blockade to Cuba, promoters of the mobilization said on Friday.
The actions are planned for Saturday and Sunday in the five continents with a clear message to denounce and condemn the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States to Cuba for six decades.
This is what the coordinators of the Europe for Cuba channel, Jose Antonio Toledo and Michele Mesagna, told Prensa Latina, a platform that launched the call a month ago.
Toledo and Mesagna, who are also the moderators of the channel founded in October 2020 to support the Cuban Revolution, commented that the announced actions range from caravans of cars, motorcycles and bicycles to rallies, marches, mountain climbing and talks with passersby to explain them the impact of the siege implemented by Washington.
Solidarity, political and union organizations, associations of Cuban residents and citizens in their personal capacity from several countries ensured their participation in the event.
Toledo and Mesagna announced that a great diversity of activities is expected in several nations, despite the strict restrictions in force by Covid-19 in Europe.
Social media will play an important role in the dissemination of those actions against the blockade to Cuba across the world, while the channel will broadcast them on its YouTube profile the two days, they said.
According to the call, Saturday’s mobilizations will take place in Asia, Oceania, Africa, South America and Europe, and Sunday’s rallies will correspond to North and Central America, although some organizations made adjustments as of the local reality and the scenario derived from the pandemic.
