On this show we speak with James Felton Keith, candidate for US Congress in NY’s 13th district, about the situation today for African-Americans and his involvement in the recent protests, and about his activism on behalf of Universal Basic Income (UBI). James believes the case for UBI has been strengthened by the COVID-19 pandemic: when people began to quarantine the economy immediately tanked, making the argument that in an interconnected society like ours, where economic value comes from interpersonal transactions, everyone has an intrinsic value and should therefore be given a share of American productivity. James also discusses the false relationship between work and money, arguing that this notion comes from slavery and has nothing to do with the present situation.
