Parvathaneni Harish and Mr. Ramu Damodaran, Permanent Observer to the United Nations of the University for Peace, at the Indian Embassy in New York.

The organization World without Wars and Violence in the spirit of the Third World March for Peace and Nonviolence, warmly appreciated the fact that one of the largest countries on the planet, gave its support to the march and joined our effort for peace and nonviolence on the planet.

The Ambassador was emphatic about the need for people, groups and countries to sit down and negotiate in cordial, diplomatic ways, the conflicts that exist in the various groups and countries on the planet. He commented that the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has been a mediator between Ukraine and Russia, as well as between Israel and Palestine, trying to reach diplomatic agreements and a nonviolent way out of the crisis.

The organization presented him with a document that wishes to promote the neutrality of the Trieste region, since the Trieste area is the final terminus of the Cotton Route, of utmost importance for India and is related to peace in the Middle East. This neutrality is based on UN Security Council Resolution 16.

The Ambassador was to review the document with his legal department. Our organization appeals to the good will of the peoples that the differences are discussed and negotiated through diplomatic channels, being indispensable the termination of all wars or forms of violence on the planet, as the only way to save humanity from self-destruction. The Ambassador also agreed with our position and indicated that India’s culture of peace and nonviolence, based on Gandhian principles, should be the pillars of humanity.

It was also agreed that the way out of these grey and murky days for humanity is to open the channels of dialogue and conversation. Likewise, the Ambassador commented on his concern for the armed conflicts in the rest of the planet, such as in Africa, in Sudan, which is claiming more lives than the conflict in Ukraine, equally worrying, not to mention the current crisis in the Middle East.
We agree that the path must be to press and be constant in the pro-dialogue and non-violent positions, and persevere in being mediators and facilitators of Peace. The Ambassador supports the 3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence and asks that we continue on our way forward.
