We are stronger than we think.

We are deeper than we feel.

We are wider than our gaze.

We are endless, like the sky.

We are forever, as the stars.

We are eternal, luminous suns.

We are everything, countless grains.

We are grounded, yet unbounded.

North. South. East. West.

We are embraced and enveloped.

Past behind, Future ahead…

The path is open, endless, and clear.

Postscript:

This poem captures the registers—the thoughts and feelings that arose so vividly inside of me during some moments when we were working on the 1st Word March and Violence here in the Philippines in 2009 which I wanted to share with him…

Feeling that we were helping to open the future, one that was peaceful for everyone– feeling peace inside me and with the world at large, one that was full of energy and the strength to build a life that cares for the well-being of all humans, one with joyfulness at what being alive and well holds.

Idealistic? Just wishful thinking?

Maybe yes. Maybe no.

To see the efforts of countless men and women, peacemakers who are working hard to build a world without wars and violence, working to stop all the violence that we see around us–political, economic, social violence, and even violence to the nature and the earth that nourishes us…an invigorating feeling arises, making you feel that life has a meaning and fulfillment that lies deep within. https://en.theworldmarch.org/
