On July 24, tens of thousands of people from across the United States mobilized to Washington, DC to take part in a protest calling for the arrest of war criminal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The prime minister arrived this week for a joint-address to Congress in an effort to galvanize additional support for Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. While Netanyahu received a standing ovation from both Democrats and Republicans in Congress for his lie-riddled speech, anti-genocide protestors were heavily brutalized at the Capitol gates by city police, and U.S.-funded Israeli jets continued their bombing campaigns all over the besieged Gaza strip. Despite the heavy police repression and violence, the mass demonstration received widespread public attention and reaffirmed where the majority of the world stands with Palestine.
