With the World March for Peace and Non-violence 2024 planning to visit Pakistan in its March for Peace across the globe this October, a Football Festival was organized on July 8 and 9 in Bahria Town, to set things in motion for the World March visit to the country.

The Football Festival featured five teams with around 100 youth and officials involved in the event:

1) IRWA Eagles FC, Izmir Society, Lahore
2) Bahria Town Football Academy, Bahria Town Lahore
3) Al Noor Football Academy, Dream Garden Lahore
4) Margalla Hills Football Academy, Islamabad
5) EME – DHA Football Academy, Lahore

HERE ARE THE FIVE FOOTBALL TEAMS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE FESTIVAL:

 

 

 

 

These were the five teams, young football players, who participated in the football festival.

These were the young football players who were also introduced into a non-competitive mindset of winning and losing. The tournament was win-win, all teams were winners. All teams received equal trophies and medals featuring the logo of of the World March for Peace and Non-violence. The officials and players also received certificates and trophies.

Envisioned as a tournament to support the World March for Peace, the significance and importance of the 3rd World March’s message was shared with the youth. And, also shared during the tournament was the message and importance of peace and non-violence in building a better world, inspiring the youth to denounce and not to take part in activities that promote any kind of violence.

Going forward, a Peace Walk, Marathon, or any other sports festival in October 2024 is being envisioned by the management of the Bahria Town and the Izmir Society to welcome the 3rd March for Peace and Non-Violence when it comes. Both entities are looking forward to hosting the International World March for Peace Base Team in Pakistan.

The Football Festival featured 5 young teams and they were introduced to a non-competitive mindset so they can enjoy the fun and benefits of a sport and the importance of a non-violent attitude towards life.

Here in Pakistan and in other parts of the globe, the World March for Peace is surely a step towards the direction of building a peaceful and non-violent world that the youth can help build and look forward to.
