In the face of unparalleled environmental challenges, the pivotal role of today’s youth in preserving our planet has never been more vital.

Throughout the month of August 2023, the Philippine Misereor Partnership Inc (PMPI)  and the Rights of Nature PH movement are proud to have organized and witnessed the undeniable potential of our youth as driving forces behind environmental preservation and sustainable practices.

With the theme, Youth Evolving With Nature (YEWN), PMPI held this empowering youth camp for 5- days in Antipolo to develop the talents of the youth to help them craft their advocacy and message better.

In collaboration with the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) and PETA Lingap Sining, 28 RoN youth participants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were trained in different art forms—including dance, song, writing, sculpture, and painting—to vividly convey their dedication and concern for our planet’s protection.

Award-winning actor and environmentalist Pepe Herrera also graced the workshop and gave tips on how the participants can amplify their voices by exploring creative mediums for championing their causes and campaigns. Culminating in an enchanting dance and theater performance, the five-day camp showcased participants’ unwavering commitment to spreading environmental awareness within their communities.
