SDGs Celebration onboard Peace Boat

The MV Pacific World will visit New York City for the first time since the pandemic as an immediate follow up to the UN General Assembly High-level Week, including the SDG and Climate Ambition Summits. We are also celebrating Peace Boat’s 40th Anniversary. An event hosting partners working to find innovative solutions to accelerate climate action, share best practices for responsible ocean stewardship, and build momentum for peace, nuclear disarmament, and achieving the SDGs.

Peace Boat is an international NGO which carries out global educational and advocacy voyages for peace and sustainability on a large passenger ship, and has Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. As a committed campaigner for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Peace Boat sails with the SDGs logo on its hull, visiting approximately 100 countries around the world annually. As Peace Boat docks in New York City on September 30, a special event onboard will bring together stakeholders from the United Nations, governments, youth and civil society to highlight the role of partnerships towards the implementation of the SDGs.
