Yesterday, the Humanist Action movement, whose president is the deputy Tomás Hirsch and is sponsored by more than 100 people, whose sponsorships will be presented to the Electoral Service, began its procedures before a notary to become a political party.
Hirsch was accompanied by Congresswoman Ana María Gazmuri, who joined Acción Humanista as of this date, while among the signatures collected were those of Efren Osorio as secretary general of the party, Marilén Cabrera, current Undersecretary of National Assets, Sebastián Vergara who is a councillor in Iquique, Humberto Artigas, current councillor of Peñalolén, Catalina Vidal, feminist activist, Camila Ahumada, animal activist, Diego Mardones, astronomer, among others.
Tomás Hirsch declared that he wanted to “collaborate with the government led by President Gabriel Boric, contributing to make Chile a fairer, more democratic, decentralised country, with more respect for everyone”.
He also valued the incorporation of the deputy Ana María Gazmuri. “We are excited because we have been sharing struggles, projects and challenges for many years. I think it is a tremendous contribution to promote together what we have ahead of us”, she added. The deputy pointed out that “we are committed to this process of change and transformation, accompanying the constituent process and our new government of Apruebo Dignidad. I am very honoured by this invitation, and I am happy to join the work of Acción Humanista”.
Acción Humanista was created in mid-2020, after the resignation of almost 300 members of the Humanist Party, led by Tomás Hirsch, forming a movement that is part of the conglomerate currently in government, Apruebo Dignidad.
