Who we are?
We are a group of volunteers from different countries around the world, professionals and/or health users, who want to give voice to a “humanizing view” on health systems from a broad and comprehensive perspective. We want to put into words and images the positive news that need to be highlighted and the negative news that need to be denounced, that happen day by day in our world.
What motivates our existence?
We live in a moment of permanent changes and accelerated social evolution. Vertiginous events surprise daily, and lead in a variety of directions. In some cases the direction of such events is clearly negative and dehumanizing, and on the other hand, in other cases the facts demonstrate the progression of events and discoveries with a clear “humanizing” direction.
A “humanist view” emphasizes the importance of disseminating and promoting events that at the present time go in the direction of humanizing the world; and denouncing and repudiating any acts that generate and reinforce violence – in all its aspects.
This New Humanism stresses the need to make an absolute priority on the scale of social values – to give access to quality education and health to all the inhabitants of the planet, and this prioritization (health and education for all) will mark the full and true beginning of a social change towards a more just, supportive and non-violent society.
When we speak of “Health”, we mean to include the necessary universality, equity, opportunity and quality, and from an integral perspective, a view of the human being in his biological, psychological and spiritual dimensions, made in, and maker of, a natural and social environment, in a society that orients the available resources so that everyone exercises their right to well-being and an autonomous and full life for as long as possible.
We understand Health as the synthesis of multiple factors and with a diversity of sectors involved. Therefore, we aspire to give voice to professionals, scientists, politicians, activists and the voice of people in general, because we understand that it is among all that a plural and integral health is built.
For all of the above, we understand that it is highly necessary to create spaces for information, exchange and communication of news that prioritize this “humanist view” of events in Health and disseminate it by all possible means.
REHUNO Salud (Humanist Health News Network) will be an attempt to generate and make evident news of positive and evolutionary aspects that are developing in the area of Health on our planet, and also denounce the negative aspects of events that tend to stop this process.
In the permanent noise and bombardment of news media on health, generated from sources and media with varied interests, we see the need to generate a “news network”, that although small and limited in its beginnings, is clearly identified and prioritizes a view and direction that aim to contribute to “humanize health” in all aspects of human life – physical, psychological and spiritual.
This is the attempt of “REHUNO in Health”.

Cultures will begin to understand one another; the peoples will experience a growing yearning for progress for all, understanding that progress for the few ends up being progress for no one. Yes, there will be peace, and out of necessity it will be understood that the outline of a universal human nation is taking shape.” (Silo, 2004)
