Setsuko Thurlow has become the world’s most powerful voice describing the atrocities and human consequences of an atomic bomb explosion.
After surviving that horrific devastation, she committed her life to ridding the world of nuclear weapons for all of us.

A small group of film-makers have followed Setsuko for 3 exciting years and launched a fundraising to finish their film quickly in order to share her message and create a safer world.
The film, “A Vow From The Ruins”, has three main themes that run throughout:
– the powerful story of Setsuko Thurlow and her activism based in her testimony about her horrific experience of the atomic bomb;
– Mitchie Takeuchi’s warm friendship with Setsuko which inspired her to investigate the mystery of what happened to her family during and after the bombing and;
– the success of ICAN (the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons) with Setsuko’s help, in producing a Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty and being awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for this amazing achievement.
All of this is told within the context of the current global climate where nuclear countries are threatening to use these weapons of mass destruction.

Their call:
Today, we are closer to the threat of nuclear war than we have been in 50 years. We want to spread Setsuko’s story to help people understand how urgent this issue is.
We need funds to finish our film and get it out into the world as soon as possible. 100% of the money raised will go to the editing of our film! We are asking for your help.
WE ARE DONATING 5% OF FUNDS RAISED TO ICAN (THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO ABOLISH NUCLEAR WEAPONS).
