On Saturday, the 2nd of July, at 2.30pm, hundreds of people met in the centre of Quito to celebrate the LGBTI Pride March. Men and women of all ages and sexual orientations marched to the sound of singing, music and chants celebrating the respect for diversity.
The rainy afternoon couldn’t stop the marchers from doing what they set out to do as the March wound its way through the streets of the Mariscal area of Quito with its characteristic respect, joy and colour. Many families came along to explicitly support non discrimination of different sexual orientations.
