Nuclear tree falls in Paris at COP21
From Beyond Nuclear newsletter

Although the COP21 climate accord got mixed reviews among environmentalists, there was one definite cause for celebration: the nuclear industry came away disappointed.  Despite a full court PR press in Paris, nuclear power was the proverbial tree falling in the forest.  No one heard it. That’s perhaps in part because, as Beyond Nuclear’s Linda Pentz Gunter pointed out in a Truthout column this week, the case for nuclear is so conditional.  No one, from the lofty  Bill Gates to DOE Secretary Ernest Moniz to James Hansen could sell nuclear without a lot of “ifs” and “maybes.”  As we posted on Twitter, and in columns, climate change can’t wait fornuclear fantasies.  Fortunately many corporations agree and have pledged to go 100% renewable.
