1.500 people came to the Westbahnhof in Vienna, where so many refugees have arrived from Hungary in recent weeks. The people here in Vienna took a lot of initiative to help, and during the rally many speakers talked about their experiences in this helping process such as the two very impressive ladies who organized convoys to bring refugees from Hungary to Vienna. Other speakers help in the Traiskirchen refugee camp or at the stations where the people arrive. Without these volunteers the whole support system would break down, and it seems that a lot of the helpers are already very tired.
After an hour march blocking one of the main streets from Vienna the manifestation ended at one of the darkest places in Vienna’s history: the deportation prison Hernalser Gürtel.
