Under the statement “Japanese political leaders and elected officials forgot Democracy. We are angry”, Prof. Takeshi Sakagami circulated this news and photograph to media.
“A picture taken in front of the Diet Building in Tokyo, at 7:30 pm today, on July 17. People are standing packed together. They are protesting against the forceful passing at the Lower House the day before of the Security Bills by the ruling parties LDP political party and Komeito political party. The Bills passed are against the very idea of Japan’s Pacifist Constitution and will open to Japan a way to actively participate in wars. A large majority of law professors and experts in these matters claim that the Bills are illegal. The Bills will go to the Upper House for discussions.
