The German Ecuador Solidarity group, EcuaSoli, participated with political placards in two Ecuadorian concerts which took place in the German capital.
On the 28th of June, hundreds of Germans and Latin-Americans based in Berlin gathered in the city’s Mauerpark to watch concerts by Ecuadorian bands, among others: Musicalle and Swing Original Monks.
EcuaSoli was formed in autumn of 2013 and their aim is to raise awareness of the Chevron case. To do this they organise monthly events in solidarity with the Ecuadorian government and people and cooperate in several movements, associations and German political parties. This concert was the opportunity for members of the organisation and people from civil society to show their support for democracy in Ecuador and also Venezuela and Greece as a result of the political events taking place in those countries in recent weeks.
