Today the Global Media Forum organised by Deutsche Welle was inaugurated in the German city of Bonn, and Pressenza participated with a panel in which examples of social mobilisations, unfolding thanks to the creation of consciousness through new media in such diverse cities as New York, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, local communities in the vast territory of China as well as in European cities and the uprisings known as the Arab Spring, were illustrated.

The analyses were given by David Andersson, member of “Making Worlds: A Commons Coalition” and the Occupy Wall Street Movement of the US; Paulo Genovese, Pressenza team coordinator in Brazil; Tony Henderson, member of the World Coordination Team of the International Humanist Party and Pressenza editor in Hong Kong; Baher Kamal, pro-peace journalist specialising in the Middle East; Silvia Swinden, Coordinator of the World Centre of Humanist Studies and Pressenza editor in London; with the moderation of Tony Robinson, Spokesperson for World without Wars and Violence and co-director of Pressenza.

The different presentations were accompanied by photos, videos and audio-visual productions of recent news from different places with the underlying thread of the expression of a clamour for a new type of society with the methodology of active nonviolence.

The different presentations were complemented by opinions, questions and answers from the public with which was established a very dynamic and interactive dialogue.

It became evident that the traditional media, at the service of large economic interests don’t favour the expressions of a new sensibility that is tired of the proposals of the system and is searching to give shape to innovative modes of social organisation, based on compassion, consensus and fraternity.

Finally, the work of Pressenza was explained, based on an alignment with siloist doctrine, through the voluntary work of activists committed to dissemination of demonstration effects that allow the advance towards a Universal Human Nation.
