As the Hong Kong contribution to the Congress, Albert Oung, supported by executive member Mike Sit, was the speaker at a workshop titled: “Green into Treasure”, on Mar 31,2012. The co-moderator of the workshop was Mr. Charles Berkow, Environmental Policy Adviser of the Parliamentary Office, Swedish Green Party.
The third Hong Kong member at the Congress was Dr. Bryan Wong.
“Everything went very well,” said Albert Oung, “and it was really worthwhile that we took the opportunity to join in. We made new contacts and solidified old friendships. We feel much more up-to-date with what’s going on in Green affairs now.”
Green Party Hong Kong is to try as host to the 2013 Asia-Pacific Green Congress, and Mr Oung thinks Hong Kong has a good chance of being the host country. The Philippines would also be a worthy contender for that honour, and apparently Pakistan has expressed interest as well.
