The campaign will officially begin on 21 January, to conclude on 21 June this year. The aim is to raise awareness of the need to practice active nonviolence everywhere and in every sphere of human behaviour. The activities will be geared towards finding 10,000 people to undertake training that will lead to practicing active nonviolence in their own everyday spheres.

Human beings as the central value and concern, asserting the equality of all human beings, recognising personal and cultural diversity, developing an awareness that goes beyond that which is currently accepted as absolute truth, asserting freedom of ideas and beliefs and refusing to accept any kind of violence or discrimination: these are the six points that characterise the new Humanism which the volunteers must adhere to in order to take part in the campaign.

The meeting, which was held at the Punta de Vacas Study and Reflection Park study centre (Argentina), was attended by around a thousand people from all over the world. The event included the presentation of the new edition of the Community Book and the new website, which will act as the Community’s main work tools.
